Blessed Earth Blessed Earth Director:Hannah Moore(Australia)Producers:Banma Danga,Wang Changying Tibetan medicine is a thousands-year old practice.It has been passed down from masters to students for generations.Coba is a Tibetan doctor in his 70s who is passing his knowledge onto his son.There are 4,000 herbs to be learned,and they can be found in nature.The processing practices are changing with the passage of time and Coba’s son has built a factory to process the medicines more efficiently.But despite technology,Tibetan medicine is inextricably linked to the natural world,and with environmental destruction the effectiveness of the herbal medicine is becoming less potent.For the practice to continue,the environment must be protected,and all knowledge must be passed to the next generation.
