An unprecedented global crisis of COVID-19 pandemic evokes the world's thinking about the future of humankind. This pandemic is no doubt one of the major disasters in human history, comparable to the medieval Black Death (bubonic plague), and the 1918 influenza. It is even called the "Third World War" because of the profound impacts on the political, economic and global order.Doomed as historical event, COVID-19 is marked as B.C.for Before COVID and A.C.for After COVID (see New York Times on March 17, 2020).Then, what have we learnt from unprepared B.C.and what should we have to prepare for A.C.regarding human survival crisis? While an answer without hesitation is to prepare for better protection against future potential virus epidemics, an unheeded but more severe potential crisis-climate change-should be paid special attention in the post-pandemic era.
