U.S. apparel and textile makers expect economic and job growth in 2021

The economic recovery in the U.S. will continue for the rest of 2021, the nation's purchasing and supply executives said in the Spring 2021 "Semiannual Economic Forecast" from the Institute for Supply Management(ISM) Business Survey Committees. ISM said expectations for the remainder for 2021 have improved somewhat compared to December 2020, "as there is hope that the corner has been turned on the coronavirus pandemic, with both manufacturing and services sectors signaling expansion." Revenue for 2021 is expected to increase 7.2 percent on average. This is 0.3 percent higher than the December 2020 forecast of 6.9 percent and 8.5 percent above the 1.3 percent decrease reported for 2020 over 2019.
