The Chinese movie My African Bride, which premiered on January 14 in China, has drawn flocks of viewers to cinemas. The movie, based on a real story in a small village in north China's Hebei Province, shows how an African woman breaks cultural barriers while living with her Chinese mother-in-law, helps the village protect the environment by calling for the closure of a polluting factory, and works with villagers to build a prosperous rural area.
