<正> In order to provide an anti-Compton shield for N-type axially symmetric HPGe detector, we designed and made a new BGO counter. The structure of the axially symmetric BGO detector is shown in Fig.l. It consists mainly of a Pb collimator with 30 mm thickness, BGO crystals, Teflon reflectors, optical couplings, photo-multiplier tubes (PMT) and stainless steel photo shields.
