摘要

<正>Yangjen Lhamo is a 20th Century woman doctor of Tibetan medicine.In an era when women were restricted to domestic duties,she became an outstanding doctor in the fields of eye surgery and gynecology due to her courage and life-long efforts.As a female she took a pioneering approach to medicine and played a role in forming the vanguard of contemporary female doctors working in Tibet.Due to her influence the number of female doctors is gradually increasing.At present,in the field of gynecology within Tibetan Medicine, the number of female doctors and nurses who are ethnic Tibetans,ethnic Lhopa,ethnic Moinpa and ethnic Hui accounts for 42 percent.This medical team,especially in the field of gynecology and pediatrics,is growing and playing an immeasurably important function.
