<正>IN June 1921, 13 communists representing 52 members of communist organizations all over China met in an ordinary apartment building in Shanghai to found the Communist Party of China (CPC). Joining them were two representatives of Communist International. Today this ordinary apartment building has become one of the most important memorial places for the People’s Republic of China and its people. Every time I visit this place, I always feel its historic atmosphere and importance. There are few places of comparable historic significance in the world. Who at that time might have imagined what a world changing effect this historic event would eventually have?
