Shenyang is a tourist city in northeast China. There exist two industry clusters related to tourism in Shenyang. One cluster mainly provides services to foreign tourists, including tourists from other countries and those from other parts of China. The other cluster mainly meets the demand of local residents for recreation and relaxation. In the essence of travel experience, foreign tourists prefer to get to know the world of local people, gain insights into their living conditions and lifestyles, and gain more real experience and fun of the travel by consuming the same travelling and recreation services and facilities as the local residents. This essay explores causes of the incompatible co-existence of the two clusters mentioned above as well as suggestions to speed up the integration of the two clusters.
