"Chao shou", a unique way Sichuan people refer to wontons, literally means making wontons in the shape of folded hands. Long Chaoshou is a famous Sichuan snack in China and it was founded in 1941. In the 1940s, Zhang Guangwu, owner of the "Nong Hua Teahouse" in Chun Xi Road, founded a wonton restaurant named "Long Chaoshou". Long Chaoshou got its name not because the founder's name was "Long". In fact when Zhang and his friends discussed the plan to open a Chaoshou restaurant in "Nong Hua Teahouse" at the beginning, they found that "Long" was the homonym for "Nong" and meant "someone is in extremely good fortune" in Chinese. Thus they named the restaurant Long Chaoshou.
