Operation Status of LAPECR3 Ion Source for HIMM Project in 2018

摘要

LAPECR3(Lanzhou All Permanent Electron Cyclotron Resonance ion source no.3)had been developed as the ion injector of Heavy Ion Medical Machine(HIMM)accelerator facility since 2009 year[1].LAPECR3 features a compact structure,small size,and low cost.The ion source was designed to produce more than 100 eA C5+ion beam for long term stable operation.The first HIMM accelerator facility was built in Wuwei city.Since the HIMM accelerator facility delivered C6+ion beam successfully in December 2015,many equipment tests and beam optimization had been carried out in the past three years for Medical Treatment License.The main task of LAPECR3 ion source is routine operation for HIMM.The layout of the ion sources at the injection platform is shown in Fig.1.
