On July 8 and 9,2020,Sister Cities International of the United States held the first virtual edition of its annual conference.On July 9,President Lin Songtian of the Chinese People ’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries delivered a congratulatory speech via the internet at the opening ceremony of the conference.Lin noted that with COVID-19 raging across the globe,hundreds of thousands of lives have been lost.People are threatened in every country.
