During the poverty alleviation,it was found that the majority of farmers and herders in impoverished situations were facing challenges in terms of not only being at a disadvantage when it came to capital investment but also lacking the skills needed to embark on non-farming employment. It thus became evident that it would have been highly unlikely for these people to have any hope of pulling themselves out of their poverty should they have run businesses on their own or performed any other related activities. To attack poverty at its core and give locals a helping hand,Rinpung County in Shigatse City encourages members of impoverished households to participate in professional community cooperatives, where they could gain benefits by learning skills and improving their knowledge.Only by doing so were they finally equipped with the professional capacity to shake off poverty’s dire shackles. The truth is that initiatives such as these have seen stellar achievements and high rates of effectiveness, and one model example of such success is the Dedan Khangsha Weaving Cooperative(bde-Idan khang-gsar in Tibetan)of Dekyi Lying Township.
