Poetical Sketches, Songs of Innocence and of Experience, the early part of Blake's compositions, are his best-known and most widely read works. The lyrics in these books are full of charm, many of which have become the classics of English poetry. Blake is worthy of the title of the first English Romantic poet for his short poems with great appeal and enduring power .
