摘要

TheBluestEye, written by the Toni Morrison, revolves around a black girl called Pecola Breedlove who is driven insane by her strong desire to have blue eyes as the whites do. Aimingto analyze the Pecola's tragedy by examining the influence of white dominated culture on Pecola, her family and community, the fact that African Americans should maintain their ethnic culture for a better survival will be revealed.
