<正> 俚语在美国社会生活中广泛使用。各行各业,各个社会圈子都有自己通用的俚语。在美国大学生中,反映学习生活的俚语有: 1.为准备考试而刻苦攻读的俚语(to study extremly hard for an exam): to cram to burn midnight oil to pull on all night to hit the books 2.简单容易的课程(an easy course): a gut course 3.困难的课程(a difficult course): a killer a hear a grinder 4.考试不及格或没考好(to fail an exam, to do badly on an exam): to bite the dust to bomb to luck out to brown off to flunk(v.t.) 例:The teacher/professor flunked the student. 教师给学生不及格的分数。
