IntroductionIn recent years,many theories have been put forward on second language teaching,and the focus ofattention has shifted from the teacher,who has tended to be the centre of the classroom,to thelearners,whose role is‘to react to the stimuli and instructions’(Littlewood,1990:1)provided by theteacher.Theoretical and practical research have resulted in a new methodology-the student-centredclass.
