Surtsey was born in 1963. It was a great event for scientists. They were lucky enough to see the birth of this volcanic (火山的 )island. It began at 7:30 a.m.on November 14. A fishing boat was sailing near Iceland.The boat moved under the captain's feet. He noticed a strange smell and some black smoke.
