摘要

In response to the call of the UN, China established in April 1989 the "China Committee for the International Decade for Natural Disaster Reduction (CCIDNDR)", which was chaired by a vicepremier of the State Council and involved 28 ministries and commissions. As one of the members of the Committee, China Seismic Administration (CSA) has made it a holy mission to prevent and reduce seismic disasters.
