Effects of Relaxation and Correlation on Lifetime of Met ast able 6s[3/2]_2 State of Atomic Xenon

摘要

A high precision measurement of the lifetime of the 6s[3/2]_2 state in XeI, which has been carried out recently at a magnetic optic trap (MOT) equipment by Walhout et al.~[1], showed a rather large difference from the prediction of Small-Warren et al.~[2] by about a factor of 3. In order to explain this discrepancy, Indelicato et
