【正】 According to legend, Macao beganwith a festival, when Chinese fishermengave thanks to A-Ma, goddess of seafar-ers, for guiding them through a storm toland here. When Portuguese arrived in thesame harbor they celebrated with prayerto their Catholic saints. Since then Macaohas taken every opportunity to add to itsholiday calendar...whether for religious,historical, sporting, cultural and even cu-linary reasons.
