【正】 Despite the impact of SARS, the accumulated production of cars China wide in the first half of 2003 reached nearly 900,000 units, an increase of 103% year on year. As a result, passion of the transnational companies in China is just like the hot summer. Apart from the latest cooperation between Toyota and Guangzhou Automotive Industry Group Co., Ltd., Shanghai GM announced a plan of RMB 200 million on establishing its Jinqiao plant. VW declared it will invest 6 billion Euro in China in the forthcoming 5 years. Various signs indicate that competition among the transnational companies has entered a new phase.
