Concordance-based foreign language teaching is attracting growing attention in the international foreign language teaching field, but it is barely taking its first step in China. The installation of visual display units in university classrooms has paved the hardware way to the use of this new approach. This paper discusses the potential use of concordancers in foreign language teaching and reveals the advantages of this approach as compared with the traditional approaches. The author also exemplifies the case with his own pedagogic practice and explain show two concordancers can be combined to serve the purpose of the teaching of English as a foreign language.
