September and October are normally the busiest months of the year for car dealers in China. However, at Beijing's largest car market, the Yayuncun Auto Market, on September 10, buyers were few and far between. "Sales will be low again this month," said Rui Cheng, a young sales agent. "Despite several rounds of price cuts [by manufactur-ers], people are still reluctant to buy new cars."
