摘要

This themed collection on Mechanics of Nanomaterials consists of five papers,including one review article. With our ability to control and manipulate matter at atomic level developed with the invention of atomic force microscope since 1980s,novel materials with feature size ranged from a few nanometer to hundreds of nanometer have been synthesized or fabricated,from nanograin crystals to low-dimensional materials.Nanomaterials are not only small in size or feature size,but also have different properties from their bulk or macro materials:Size dependent mechanical properties,different physical and biochemical properties.
