摘要

The novel Waiting describes Kong Lin,a common,ordinary even pedantic military doctor waits for more than 18 years to have the divorce with his wife in the country in order to get married with his lover.By the author's vivid illustration about the personalities and fates of the three main characters,the novel emphasizes the misfortune of people in that era whose freedom and desire are restricted to the rules of the society at that moment and shows the view of waiting with regard to wisdom and philosophy,encouraging the reader to pay more attention to life,society and especially to the human nature.
