摘要

Human metabolic disorders and associated costs have increasingly become a burden to our aging society.Understanding the molecular details of major metabolic pathways is critical to future therapeutic strategies against metabolic disorders.In this special issue,we have selected several topics covering recent advances in metabolic research.The articles in this review can be grouped into four major topic areas:1)Cholesterol metabolism (Xiao and Du);2) Cancer metabolism (Wu W and Wu S);3) Amino acids and insulin secretion (Zhang) and 4) Regulation of energy storage and homeostasis (Liu,Li and Shi).
