The genus of snub-nosed monkey comprises five species that are only distributed in very limited areas in China,Vietnam and Myanmar.Tokin snub-nosed monkey (Rhinopithecus avunculus) is endemic to northern Vietnam;the Burmese snub-nosed monkey (R.strykeri) was recently found in northern Burma (Myanmar) and adjacent parts of China;the other three species,Guizhou snub-nosed monkey (R.brelichi),Sichuan snub-nosed monkey (R.roxellana) and Yunnan snub-nosed monkey (R.bieti),are endemic to China (Fig.1).
