摘要:
As one of the greatest inventions in the 21stcentury,in vitro fertilization (IVF) has been successfully used in treating infertility that affects ~ 15 % couples globally.Nowadays,IVF contributes to 1%-5 % of all newborns in developed countries. As well,IVF is one of the most promising technologies for intensive propagation of genetically superior domestic animals. However, increasing evidence in humans and animals shows that IVF is associated with various short-or long-term health complications, such as miscarriage, preterm birth, lower birth weight, and higher disease risks (e.g.metabolic diseases and cancer) in later life.Among these, skewed sex ratio, which has potential long-term consequences and can even threaten societal stability and security, represents an issue of great concern. However, the underlying mechanisms remain unclear.
