1 Introduction
Energy chemistry systems engineering (ECSE),the application of the principles of system engineering in the field of energy chemistry,is a rapidly developing cutting-edge interdiscipline.It is used for various processes and systems in the domain of energy chemistry,dealing with problems of the efficient conversion,comprehensive utilization and complementary integration of material and energy with the theories,methods and techniques of system engineering,in order to achieve the optimal design,planning,decision-making,control,management and operation of the energy chemistry systems.As the conversion and storage of energy and different chemical substances can be achieved directly or indirectly via chemical reactions,the focus of ECSE is on the conservation and efficient use of energy through process integration and synthesis.Research and development (R&D) of technologies such as poly-generation,energy/mass coupling network,as well as the highly efficient complementary utilization of chemical and renewable energy are the core issues to be discussed in the domain of ECSE.
