摘要:
Ultrahigh-strength steels are highly desirable for a wide range of engineering applications.Among them, maraging steels represent an important class of high-alloyed and almost carbon-free ultrahigh-strength steels, the hardening of which occurs in aging of the carbon-free martensite as the result of precipitation of dispersed intermetallic nanoparticles [1].Since their initial development in the 1950s,maraging steels quickly gained interest as an alternative to medium-to-high-carbon steels that suffer from poor weldability, low toughness and size limitation for production. This family of steels is well known for their ultrahigh strength, high fracture toughness, high strength to weight ratio, good weidability, easy machinability in the solution and annealed conditions, and dimensional stability during aging. The unique combination of these attractive features enables them to find extensive applications in many high-tech areas, such as missile casings, aircraft landing gears, jet engine components, helicopter drive shafts, etc.
