With the support by the National Natural Science Foundation of China,Prof.Wang Lin (王琳) and his research group at the Shanghai Key Laboratory of Atmospheric Particle Pollution and Prevention (LAp3),Department of Environmental Science and Engineering,Fudan University,together with their collaborators from the University of Helsinki,Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology,Shanghai Environmental Monitoring Center,Shanghai Meteorology Bureau,Shanghai Academy of Environmental Sciences and Aerodyne Research company,have revealed the chemical formation mechanism (H2SO4-dimethyamine-H2O ternary nucleation) of atmospheric new particle formation events at a molecular level in a Chinese megacity,Shanghai,which was published in Science (2018,361:278-281).
