With the support by the National Natural Science Foundation of China,a research group led by Prof.Li JiXi (李继喜) from Fudan University demonstrates that the C-terminal of gasdermin D (GSDMD-C) acts as an autoinhibition executor and its N-terminal domain could form pore structures via a charge-charge interaction upon cleavage by caspases during cell pyroptosis,which was published in PNAS (2017,114(40):10642-10647).
