Tau-mediated iron export prevents ferroptotic damage after ischemic stroke

摘要

With the support by the National Natural Science Foundation of China,a collaborative study by the research group led by Prof.Lei Peng (雷鹏) from Sichuan University,Prof.Ashley Bush from the University of Melbourne,and Prof.Liu Rong (刘蓉) from Huazhong University of Science and Technology demonstrates that Alzheimer's tau protein mediates iron export,and therefore prevents ferroptotic damage after ischemic stroke,which was published in Molecular Psychiatry (2017,22 (11):1520-1530).
