Redo surgery for failed hypospadias treatment using a novel single-stage repair

摘要

Dear Editor, Urethral reconstruction of severe hypospadias represents one of the oldest problems and most common surgical challenges for pediatric surgeons.We recently developed a novel single-stage repair for these reoperative procedures.The aim of this letter is to describe our surgical procedure and report the first six cases treated with this technique.A total of six patients with prior failed repairs were referred to our center for reoperative hypospadias repair and underwent the novel single-stage procedure.The patient characteristics are presented in Table 1.Ethical approval was obtained from the Institutional Review Board of Renji Hospital,which was affiliated to the Shanghai Jiao Tong University,School of Medicine,Shanghai,China.Informed consent was obtained from patients or their parents.
