摘要

This is a book written by Yu Xiaohong and Xi Lin. The ancient Tang-Tubo road was a famous line of tra nsportation for Ta ng, with many of its secti ons corresponding with parts of the Silk Road. After con ducting field investigati ons along the road at areas within the Tibet Autonomous Region as well as Shanxi, Gansu, Qinghai, and Sichuan Provinces, the authors provide readers with professional illustrations concerning the distribution, characteristics, features, and current situation of ancient towers, grotto frescos, monastery architecture, cliff statues, gilded stone inscriptions, grave-related culture, and a mountain of cultural relics along the road's extensions. They explore why and how the road was established as well as how it developed and transformed. The book is priced at 56 yuan and is published by Sun Yat-Sen University Press in October 2018 (ISBN: 9787306064622).
