Based on the statistical data of daily precipitation in 14 meteorological stations of Ganzi Prefecture from 1960 to 2011, the temporal variation characteristics of precipitation in Ganzi Prefecture in nearly 50 years were studied. The results showed that in Ganzi Prefecture, annual precipitation showed an increasing trend, and averaged 659 mm in nearly 50 years, mainly varying from 550 to 750 mm. In a year, precipitation was mainly distributed in summer and autumn, and the precipitation in summer and autumn accounted for 83% of annual precipitation. Seen from the interdecadal variation of annual precipitation, annual precipitation in Ganzi Prefecture showed an increasing trend in different decades in nearly 50 years. It continued to increase from the 1960s to the 1990s. It increased most greatly from the 1970s to the 1980s but decreased slightly from the 1990s to the 2000s.
