With the support by the National Natural Science Foundation of China,the National Key R&D Program of China and the Key Research Plan for the National Natural Science Foundation of China in Cultivation Project,the research team led by Prof.Lin HaoTian (林浩添) at the State Key Laboratory of Ophthalmology,Zhongshan Ophthalmic Center,Sun Yat-sen University,developed the world's first artificial intelligence (AI)-based system for fundus lesions screening based on ultra widefield fundus images.Their latest research entitled "Deep Learning for Detecting Retinal Detachment and Discerning Macular Status Using Ultra-widefield Fundus Images" was published online in Communications Biology (2020,3(1):15).
