Coherent control of single neutral atom and quantum nonlinear optical nonreciprocity based on strongly coupled cavity QED

With the support by the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the National Key Research and Development Program of China,the research team led by Prof.Zhang TianCai (张天才) and Prof.Li Gang at the State Key Laboratory of Quantum Optics and Quantum Optics Devices,Institute of Opto-Electronics in Shanxi University has developed a novel method of coherently controlling the neutral atom.The method is called triply magic trapping conditions which can substantially improve the coherence of the optically trapped neutral alkaline atoms.Moreover,they have also demonstrated the quantum nonlinear optical nonreciprocity for the first time based on the strongly coupled cavity quantum electrodynamics (QED) system.The related work was published in Physical Review Letters (2019,123:253602,233604).
