摘要

Since the founding of New China 70 years ago, remarkable achievements have been attained in the fields of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and integrated Chinese and Western medicine (ICWM).At the education front, generations of new Chinese medicine practitioners have been trained and cultivated, and in basic medical research and clinical services, great strides were made drawing worldwide attention.The Nobel price bestowed on artemisinin's achievements is exemplar of the patriotic and scientific mindsets of the Chinese medical professionals in adhering to the spirit of'to inherit the best, to uphold integrity and to advocate innovation'.
