When China beganpooling its resources tofight the coronavirusin Hubei Province, 86-year-oldLucio Tan grew worried about hismotherland and sought to helpChina. From 2,000 miles awayin the Philippines, Tan donated10 million yuan (US$1.4 million)to the Chinese Language andCulture Education Foundationof China to help provincesincluding Fujian, Hubei,Liaoning and Jiangxi fight theepidemic.Tan has been deeplyconcerned about the coronavirusoutbreak since it started. “Chinais now facing a great challenge,and we must help her,” he toldhis staff.
