Katherine Johnson, a brilliant mathematician who was instrumental(有帮助的) in helping NASA send Americans into orbit in 1961, and later to the moon, died on February 24, 2020. As a black woman working for NASA in the 1950s and 1960s, Johnson overcame social boundaries and racial discrimination.
