The soaring demand for electrical energy storage technologies stimulated by advanced portable devices, prospering electric vehicles, and large-scale grid storage applications have triggered explosive research on Li metal battery (LMB), which has been widely acknowledged as the most promising energy storage technology of the future that can break the energy-density bottleneck of the state-of-art lithium-ion battery (LIB) technology [1,2].Unfortunately, the practical application of LMBs has mainly been plagued by the unsatisfactorily low Coulombic efficiency (CE), which gives a direct rise to the observed fast capacity decay and short lifespan.
