The year 2012 was remarkable in the history of American Studies at Sichuan University.First,it marked the 28^thAnniversary of the founding of the American Studies Center,which had its official debut in May,1984,coinciding with the establishment of the US Consulate General in Chengdu.U.S.Vice President George Bush was present at the Inauguration Ceremony of the American Studies Center,and afterwards gave an important talk to the university faculty and students.The past 28years have witnessed the steady development of this Center.In June,2012,the
