摘要

As one of the most representative works of James Thurber,The Secret Life of Walter Mitty is more prone to be recognized as an entertainment work,and its literary value is somehow partially understated.This paper is trying to analyze the multiple irony and underlying conflict the work conceived by the careful scrutiny.
