摘要

Listening and speaking, being important components in English language learning, are affected by many factors,includ-ing one negative emotion, foreign language anxiety. This paper discusses the effects of foreign language anxiety on middle schoolstudents in English listening and speaking. It analyzes the causes of this anxiety in terms of teachers, students, schools, methodolo-gies and cultural background. The relevant teaching strategies are presented to reduce students’ language anxiety and improvetheir listening and speaking.
