摘要

Female appellations are changing with time,which has attracted many attention from scholars.In the last century,"xiaojie"was very popular.The word"xiaojie"was then replaced by"meinv"because of its negative images.Nowadays,with the development of network buzzwords,the word"Xiao jiejie"gradually come into the public eye.In this paper,I will compare these two female appellations"meinv"and"Xiao jiejie"from four aspects:the introduction of origin and population,the characteristics of word structures,target users,and the pragmatics effects.
