The Celebrated Jumping Frog of Calaveras County is Mark Twain's first important work. Mark Twain vividly depicts life in the American West in the Gold Rush era and satires human nature, society, and politics in the story. Based on the method of sty-listic analysis put forward by Leech and Short, this study aims to analyze the story through the aspects of lexical features, grammati-cal features, figures of speech, and cohesion and context to explore the work's linguistic features and artistic values.
