摘要

This essay, picking two typical cases and applying several pragmatic principles, makes a contrastive study on the similarities and differences between Chinese and American MCs’prologues, especially conversations at film awards ceremonies. Based upon a summary of the features of the MCs’prologues, then follow some possible reasons for the similarities and differences, which further arouse thoughts on practical implications and suggestions.
