In May 2020,the 3rd Session of the 13th National People's Congress(NPC)of the People's Republic of China and the 3rd Session of the 13th Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference(CPPCC)National Committee were held in succession in Beijing.This year marks the target date for China to attain a better-off society(a Chinese concept also known as a moderately prosperous society in all respects),and it is also the final year of the 13th Five-Year Plan as well as of the existence of dire poverty.The two sessions focused on various issues,such as COVID-19 and how to contain it,continued poverty alleviation efforts,employment security,environmental conservation and development,social governance,and the rejuvenation of village and township communities,but representatives hailing from the Tibet Autonomous Region had a few key points they were most interested in discussing.
