摘要

With the improvement of aesthetic ideal,the audiences’requirements for subtitle translation is proving.Western films and television series involve western values,lifestyles,languages and cultures.Free translation accurately translate the subtitles of western films and TV series into Chinese in a way conforms to the language habits of Chinese audiences.Because of the difference of cultural background and language habit,Chinese audience cannot understand the metaphor and culture in western films and TV plays.Conveying the content of the original text,the subtitle translation of the movie and TV play tries to remove the barriers of un-derstanding which were caused by cultural difference.
